Bearing witness, to the artist, is not a passive process. It is not simply a matter of being there. Bearing witness is a process of active engagement. For both the artist and the scientist, it often involves intense observation and a record of the experience.
Join the Natural History Institute for a talk from our featured artist, Randy L. Waln, who will discuss the artist’s work and process and compare the artistic process with the scientific process. Attendees will also have the opportunity to view Randy’s current exhibition, The Moon Bears Witness, at the NHI Art Gallery and will be able to talk with the artist about the work displayed.
