Join NHI in this seasonal collaboration with Arizona State Parks to learn and experience Tonto Natural Bridge State Park, just below the Mogollon Rim.
The bridge itself is the largest natural travertine bridge in the world – and we expect some lovely fall colors in the canyon! Learn about geology, plants, and fall ecology with Tonto Natural Bridge’s interpretive ranger and NHI’s naturalists. We plan to incorporate two levels of walks: one more difficult hike through the canyon itself (includes a little rock scrambling!) and one accessible walk that remains on the paved paths up above. Both have amazing views! We will depart NHI at 7:30am, and return by 4pm.
Cost of the field trip is $65, van transportation included.
Space is limited to 13 participants. Masks are required in the vehicle at all times.
Scholarships available! Email jessie@naturalhistoryinstitute.org for more information.
