Mindful Meanderings: Deepening Our Awareness of Nature

April 27 - October 5

$20

Mindful Meanderings: Deepening Our Awareness of Nature is a series of mindful sense-experience walks with Grace Burford in collaboration with the Natural History Institute and the Highlands Center for Natural History.

We can get a lot of different benefits from taking a walk in a natural outdoor setting. We might love catching up on our friends’ lives, or happily learn to identify flora and fauna, or enjoy exercising our bodies, or get a sense of accomplishment from reaching a particular destination—or some combination of all of these. On a Mindful Meander, we set aside such worthy activities for a couple of hours to focus instead on simply being present in nature. We practice using our senses to expand our awareness of the natural world, both what’s around us and ourselves in it.
