Did you know Sedona was coastal property when the Earth’s continents assembled into the supercontinent Pangaea? Take a trip back to 280 million years ago and explore the Red Rock State Park— a geologic story of ancestral mountain deposits, an ancient sea, and coastal dunes.
Join NHI for a trip to Red Rock State Park to enjoy the views of iron-rich rock formations and explore the lush riparian habitat of Oak Creek. Learn about the park’s geology and ecology with NHI’s Program Director, Jennie Tutone, and a Red Rock State Park naturalist.
This full-day exploration will cover easy-to-moderate terrain on designated trails. We will depart NHI at 7:30am and return by 4pm.
Cost of the field trip is $65, van transportation included.
Space is limited to 13 participants.
