Fall 2023 – Winter 2024
A webinar series hosted by Dr. Tom Fleischner
E.B. White famously said, “I arise in the morning torn between a desire to improve (or save) the world and a desire to enjoy (or savor) the world. This makes it hard to plan the day.” In our current time of devastating climate change and social and ecological upheavals, finding the balance between savoring and saving the world becomes more challenging and more essential. This series features intimate conversations with four thinkers and doers on the leading edge of finding this balance, with perspectives from the realms of science, art, and activism. We’ll explore the role of attentive natural history—the direct practice of savoring the world—in addressing the seeming unraveling of the world. Bolstered by insight and community, we’ll seek authentic pathways toward hope for the kinship of nature and humanity, and be able answer the question, “What Now?” for ourselves.
