The Nature of Three Deserts- Sonoran and Arabian and the Desert Within

The Natural History Institute is excited to host a talk by author Gary Paul Nabhan, entitled “The Nature of Three Deserts – Sonoran and Arabian and the Desert Within.” Nabhan’s essay in his latest anthology, The Nature of Desert Nature, challenges traditional notions of the desert and reveals the complexity of what a desert is and can be. He writes passionately about visiting and living in deserts, creating a new frame through which he turns age-old notions of the desert on their heads. Attending to history, culture, science, and spirit, The Nature of Desert Nature celebrates the bounty and the significance of desert places.
