Watershed Restoration Workday with the Prescott National Forest

Join Us for a Volunteer Opportunity in the Prescott National Forest!
The Prescott National Forest is seeking volunteers to assist with important gully stabilization efforts to improve and protect our watershed. We’ll be implementing loose rock and juniper structures to stabilize and enhance gully systems across the landscape. This is a great chance to get hands-on experience and learn about these vital environmental practices.
Where:
Meet at the Prescott National Forest office, 344 S Cortez St, Prescott, AZ 86303. The worksite is located about 1.5 hours northwest of Prescott.
When:
Friday, March 14th, 2025
8:00 AM – 3:00 PM
What to Expect:
Help us improve one of Prescott National Forest’s priority watersheds! We’ll be using hand labor, along with some UTV and trailer assistance, to move rocks and construct stabilization structures. A high-clearance vehicle will be required to reach the site, but don’t worry—we’ll coordinate carpooling and caravan from Prescott.
What to Bring:
- Long sleeves and long pants
- Eye protection
- Sturdy work boots
- Leather gloves (we will provide extra)
- Snacks, lunch, and plenty of water
- Sun protection (hat, sunscreen)
Important Notes:
- Please arrive on time.
- Lunch is not provided, so please bring your own.
- Be ready for a rewarding day of hard work in beautiful surroundings!
Your help will make a lasting impact on the health of Prescott National Forest’s watersheds. We hope to see you there!
